Document Upload Limits and Credits Explained

This article explains how document uploads and credits work in SLAY AI™, so you know what to expect and how to manage your usage confidently.

How Many Documents Can I Upload at a Time?

You can upload up to 10 documents at a time in SLAY AI™ — similar to how ChatGPT works.

This applies when uploading files through:

  • Ask SLAY AI™

  • Generate Leverage

  • Direct uploads into the Case Organizer

Uploading in logical batches (for example, financials together or communications together) often produces the best results.

What Is the Maximum File Size?

The maximum file size per document is 512 MB.

This allows you to upload:

  • large PDFs

  • long transcripts

  • financial spreadsheets

  • image-heavy files

If a file exceeds this size, consider splitting it into smaller sections before uploading.

How Do Credits Work in SLAY AI™?

Credits are used to support the processing and analysis SLAY AI™ performs on your case data.

Credits are not used just for clicking around or typing questions.

They are primarily consumed by:

  • scanning and analyzing documents

  • identifying patterns across incidents or files

  • generating summaries, timelines, and exhibits

  • running deeper analytical workflows

What Affects Credit Usage?

Credit usage depends on how much processing you ask SLAY AI™ to do, not just how much data you store.

For example:

  • Simply storing documents uses minimal resources

  • Running pattern analysis across many incidents uses more

  • Generating detailed summaries or exhibits uses more

Because cases vary widely in complexity, credit usage can differ from one user to another, even on the same plan.

This is intentional — SLAY AI™ scales with how you use it.

Is Storage Part of Credit Usage?

Yes, storage is one component, but it is not the primary driver of credit usage.

Most credits are consumed by:

  • analysis

  • pattern detection

  • document processing

You do not need to worry about optimizing storage minute by minute. Focus on building your case — SLAY AI™ handles the rest.

How Can I See How Many Credits I Have Left?

You can view your remaining credits at any time.

To check:

  1. Click on your name in the top navigation

  2. Select Profile

  3. View your remaining credits for the current month

This gives you real-time visibility into your usage.

What Happens If I Run Low on Credits?

If you’re running low on credits, you have options.

You can:

  • upgrade your plan for more capacity

  • downgrade later if your needs decrease

  • adjust how often you run deep analyses

You are never locked in.
