Document Uploads, Credits, and Subscription Management Explained

This article explains how document uploads, credits, and subscriptions work in SLAY AI™— so you can use the platform confidently without worrying about doing something wrong.

How Many Documents Can I Upload at a Time?

You can upload up to 10 documents at a time in SLAY AI™ — similar to how ChatGPT works.

This applies when uploading files through:

  • Ask SLAY AI™

  • Generate Leverage

  • Direct uploads into the Case Organizer

Uploading documents in logical batches (for example, communications together or financials together) often produces the best results.

What Is the Maximum File Size?

The maximum file size per document is 512 MB.

This allows you to upload:

  • large PDFs

  • long transcripts

  • financial spreadsheets

  • image-heavy files

If a file exceeds this size, consider splitting it into smaller sections before uploading.

What Happens to Documents I Upload?

Any files you upload yourself — whether through:

  • Ask SLAY AI™

  • Generate Leverage

  • the Timeline

  • the Incident Tracker

  • or directly into the Case Organizer

are automatically saved into your Case Organizer and become part of your case.

You only need to upload a document once.

How Do Credits Work in SLAY AI™?

Credits support the processing and analysis SLAY AI™ performs on your case data.

Credits are not used simply for clicking around or typing questions. They are primarily used for:

  • scanning and analyzing documents

  • identifying patterns across incidents or files

  • generating summaries, timelines, and exhibits

  • running deeper analytical workflows

How Many Credits Does Each Task Use?

There is no fixed number of credits per task.

This is because credit usage depends on the amount of data being analyzed, not the name of the action.

For example:

  • A summary based on two incidents uses fewer credits than one based on hundreds

  • Pattern analysis across a short time period uses fewer credits than analysis across years

  • A short communication draft uses fewer credits than a multi-section exhibit

Any fixed “per task” number would be misleading.

What Actually Affects Credit Usage?

Credit usage is influenced by:

  • how much data is involved

  • how complex the analysis is

  • how broad or narrow the request is

In simple terms:

The more information SLAY AI™ needs to analyze, the more credits are used.

This allows the system to scale fairly across very different types of cases and use-cases.

Is Storage Part of Credit Usage?

Storage is one component, but it is not the primary driver of credit usage.

Most credits are used for:

  • analysis

  • pattern detection

  • document processing

You do not need to manage storage minute by minute. Focus on building clarit — SLAY AI™ handles the rest.

How Can I See How Many Credits I Have Left?

You can view your remaining credits at any time.

To check:

  1. Click on your name in the top navigation

  2. Select Profile

  3. View your remaining credits for the current month

This gives you real-time visibility into your usage.

What Happens If I Upgrade My Plan?

If you upgrade, any unused credits from your current plan roll over into your new plan.

This allows you to:

  • scale up during intensive periods

  • keep credits you’ve already paid for

  • continue working without interruption

What Happens If I Downgrade My Plan?

If you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next billing cycle.

Your current plan remains active until then, giving you time to:

  • complete ongoing work

  • adjust usage if needed

Can I Change My Plan at Any Time?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.

To manage your plan:

  • Go to Subscription & Billing

  • Select the plan that fits your current needs

You are never locked in.

The Right Way to Think About Credits

Instead of asking:

“How many credits does this task use?”

A more helpful question is:

“How much data am I asking SLAY AI™ to analyze right now?”

This aligns with how the system actually works — and removes the need to micromanage usage.
